Trip to Bali

Living in a foreign country has it’s advantages, and disadvantages!

My one year visa will be expiring soon, so I am in the planning stages of what to do about it.

I have decided to go to Bali for one week, and when I return it will squeeze out  3 more months  on my expiring visa. After that I will have to fly out of the country every 3 months.

I spent the better part of the weekend researching Bali, trying to figure out how to make the most of my time there. Of course I am interested in photographic opportunities, so I tried to plan my trip around a variety of opportunities

I decided I did not want to stay in one spot, but move around the Island. The northern beach area, Lovina, sounds like a wonderful place for snorkeling and dolphin watching. Central Bali, Ubud, offers the Monkey Forest, which I would love to visit! And then there is the coast, do I go to Kota or Sunur, or both?

After many hours of reading reviews, studying maps, looking up hotels, I finally had my route planned! Then I hit a brick wall when I started trying to make my reservations at the hotels I had carefully chosen. Booked! No Vacancy! Yikes, what now?

I am considering winging it, not making any reservations, hoping I will be able to find a place to sleep every night, but having never been to Bali I have no idea if that is a viable option. I am going during high season, the first week of August.

If any one has ever been to Bali, please give me some advice!

Taking a break from my Bali research I decided to play around with one of my recent photos.

I have added it to my Framed Wallpapers collection.

Hope you had a great weekend!
