a. 5 MPH
b. 10 MPH
c. 32 MPH
Speed varies among the different species of butterflies, most fly around 5 MPH, but some can reach speeds up to 32 MPH! Butterflies that are poisonous to predators, such as the Monarchs, can afford to fly at slower speeds, because the birds will not usually go after them. It is the tastier butterflies that usually fly at the higher speeds.
