Yellowstone National Park, USA

We had planned on spending one week in Yellowstone. As we headed up the last hill towards our campsite our transmission blew. We had just had a new transmission installed, so it was quite a surprise.

We ended up sending our transmission back to the original repair shop, back in Medford, Oregon. We had our 5th wheel towed to a park in Gardiner, right outside of Yellowstone, and we rented a car.

We ended up spending a little over a month in Yellowstone, and enjoyed every single minute! It was the absolute best place to get stranded!

Every other day we would pack a lunch and drive through Yellowstone, exploring different areas, watching for wildlife, taking in the incredible beauty of the magnificent National Park.

We saw several bears, much to my delight! Also many buffalo, deer, elk, fox, coyote, wolves, and I discovered where the antelope play! My wildlife shots from Yellowstone and all the other parks we visited can be viewed in my Wildlife Gallery

It was a wildlife haven that I had always hoped to find. Growing up in the city the only wildlife I ever saw was at the zoo, and that was usually a little depressing.

Besides all the great wildlife we saw some of the most incredible geological wonders of Yellowstone. A truly amazing spot on this earth of ours.

I could have stayed another month, taking in all the beauty that Yellowstone has to offer. But we had other places to go, more beauty to find, so when our transmission was back, and we were once again mobile, we said goodbye to Yellowstone and headed north to explore Glacier National Park.
