Butterflys, Bullfrogs and Lily Pads, A Day in Iowa
Before heading back to Thailand, my sister Judy and I decided to take a road trip. We flew from Los Angeles to Omaha, Nebraska. We rented a car and drove to Iowa to visit our sister Deanna.
While in Iowa I decided it would be fun to meet up with a couple of friends I had made online at Caedes, friends who share my enthusiasm for photography. We set a meeting point halfway between my sisters home and where they lived. We met at Iowa University Reiman Gardens, a beautiful botanical garden and butterfly house, about 90 miles away. My sisters and I set out Saturday morning for the drive. We passed miles and miles of corn fields. We had a very pleasant drive, visiting, and seeing the beautiful countryside of Iowa. We finally met up with my friends, and we had such a great time! My sister Judy recently purchased a camera like mine, so she was enjoying taking photos too. The pond was full of frogs and lily pads, was a very picturesque setting. The flowers were quite beautiful as well, I have added several to my Flowers Gallery. But the butterflies! They were absolutely gorgeous! Outside we came across several Monarchs flashing their beauty.

Once we went into the butterfly house I was amazed at the many different types of butterflys fluttering all around us. It was quite a magical experience.
We had a really nice day, I would recommend a stop at Reiman Gardens at Iowa University to anyone visiting Iowa.
I am very happy for my sister, she is quite content living in her beautiful house in a small, friendly community. Iowa seems like a very pleasant place. So glad I had a chance to visit her before heading back to Thailand.
After visiting with our sister for several days, Judy and I continued our road trip. We left early morning for our next destination: Chicago! I was very excited to be headed there for several reasons, which I will explain in my next post.
